Open the door to my heart and walk in
Search the innermost places of joy
And sadness, where people have left their
Imprint on my life, I challenge you to find
Me in all that confusion of emotional space
And tell me if I have disappeared into
An abyss of my own making or do I still
Exist at all? Am I stronger or weaker than
I first appeared all that long time ago?
Did life enhance my existence or was it
Robbing me of who I really am. Can you
Answer my fears? How much of me is left?
Can you find me hidden in a little corner
Or down a narrow lane scurrying away
Afraid of being what others perceived
Afraid of not being good enough to live.
Don't be alone or you will face your fears
And never will peace reign in your mind
Or in your heart. Never will you find
Yourself or reach out in innocence to touch
Another human being, unless it is a child
Who accepts you as you are, no expectation
Of evil or harmful intent, only love
