She Just Wants You To Stay.

by Hologram   Aug 1, 2010

She can feel you breaking,
She's breaking too.
Right before you leave,
She breaths out 'I love you.'

Weakly you respond
Which kills her even more.
'Cause the words don't feel
The same as before.

Right before you walk out,
She grabs onto your coat.
Now she's in tears,
Watching her hopes go up in smoke.

You're looking down
At the red brim of her eyes.
This is much more painful
Than you had ever realised.

Shaking her off as if she's nothing,
You tell her it's best that you leave.
The smallest part of you doubts it
As you see her grieve.

Now she's in more pain
Than she thought possible.
Curled into a ball as she weeps
In agony so undeniable.

Her lips form the words
To ask once more for you in stay.
But the sound doesn't make it through,
Nothing left to say.

She already knows you'd only reject her,
Causing more heartache.
So she watches you leave,
Taking all she can take.

Now there's no turning back
For you, it's done.
That battered girl who loved you
Has long gone.

A part of your past,
That's the way you want to keep it.
So why are you finding yourself,
Filled with regret?

She just wanted you to stay,
Just wanted you to love her.
But you couldn't even give that,
The chance is now gone forever.

... When people say 'It's best that ii leave' .. They should finish it with .. 'For me.'
