I Swear I Hate Love

by Liz Miller   Aug 12, 2010

I swear I hate love.
I swear, I do.
After all it's put me through,
I want to shove it down and far away,
Send it to the poles and make it stay.

I swear I hate love,
So sweet and so kind,
But it turns to be cruel, all lovers find.
You're heart will shatter,
And now nothing will matter.

I swear I hate love,
It's sticky and sweet,
But that's only if you can stand the heat.
You're lover will go and leave you and run,
You're soul will cry, there will be no more fun.

I swear I hate love,
The passion filled nights,
All broken down by the showers of fights.
All that you love will tear you apart,
And you'll sob for the shreds of your heart.

I swear I hate love,
It's tricky, it's cruel,
Love turned me into such a fool!
I believed in dreams, I believed in life.
But now all love is to me is strife.

Love will trick you, Oh yes it will!
And you will wish you had just stood still.
You're heart will tear, your eyes will tear,
And you will realize your every fear.
When they walk out that door,
And can't take anymore,
They will take your spirit,
And forever I will feel it.
That empty place that used to be warm,
But now it' empty and dusty and torn.
Someday it will feel better as I stare down, from above.
I swear to you that I hate love.
