Sedona Lullaby

by debbylyn   Aug 13, 2010

Trail of tears reflecting 'cross the painted desert sky
Thunder mountain echoes a Sedona lullaby
Wrap your daughter, mother, once nurtured at your breast
Into thy earthly cradle where she at last may rest

Apache starbursts welcome, repeat her angel name
On desert breeze, as red rock gleams in day's igniting flame
Lift the kokopeli flute, native drums on high
Gently lull your child to sleep with Sedona lullaby

The words expressed over the loss of your dear friend has touched my heart deeply.
Wis I had readit it earlier but had lost all motivation to come here for a while.
If it's one thing that we can count on is the promise of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ who promised us that one day we will re-unite with the ones we love.
I'm sure your friend knows what your heart feels for her and is watching down at you and smiling.
    Take care.

I just posted in the Robert Frost thread. I said something about how rare it is, nowadays, to find regular standard aabb rhyme schemes that are well executed- with good flow, beautiful imagery and effective delivery that doesn't compromise the poem's integrity.

    Yet, here you are.

A rather well written poem, I felt. The use of the English language was creative and refreshing, and seemed effortless.
