Why Not Choose Life?

by FindingHarmonyInYurCries   Aug 16, 2010

I'm tired of the pain,
That comes with the date.
The date on which he died,
And left me to my fate.

I stood above a hundred,
Bodies buried underground.
And couldn't imagine,
The confines to which he's bound.

How is living the life,
Six feet below the Earth?
Do you understand it all,
Or are you confused with the birth?

The little bundle of joy,
That could very well be yours.
The one just learning to walk,
Finally off all fours.

He'll never know his dad,
Because of the choice he made.
He took his life to prove,
This game was to be played.

He was teaching those left,
How easy it is to cheat.
What he didn't detail,
Was that it wasn't a major feat.

It's a simple way out,
Of a shitty situation.
But it's a permanent choice,
That stained the nation.

Statistics down the drain,
A son with no dad.
You proved one thing,
.. Even the best go bad ..
