The Land of Smiling Faces

by Ray Smallshaw   Aug 19, 2010

I live in Thailand the land of smiling faces that brighten my days,

Yet what is hidden behind those smiles is it the machete marks found on my year lost dogs back,

The healed wound marks that cover his face and body,

The mournful cries and jumps I hear and see when he is asleep on my floor,

We have only had him back a week and daily it is a fight to win his trust and love,

Lord grant me the patience to hold true for my dog Khow let him once more lie in my lap,

Then look at me and give me one of his licks of love it will fill my heart to know he is home.

Be kind go slow. He'll trust you once again in his own time. what people do to animals is a horrible act. I don't believe in revenge but God help the person that hurts one of my animals, I'll be visited in jail most likely.
I train horses, and I know you can win them over. Good luck and I'm so sorry
