Why Do You Write?

by Nobody Knows   Aug 22, 2010

Why do you write?
What good does it do?
Do you think they even care? About the things you can do?
What do poems offer?
You're wasting your breath.
These people ask me questions. They have no respect.

You're not even good.
Why do you write?
Maybe just give up, Maybe I might.
But to my heart, it doesn't feel right.
I can't be responsible, for another person's sight.
So I start to write, and see the light.

I don't write to be the best, I don't enter in contests.
But when I'm writing these words, I'll always be my best.
I'm uncovering the hurt, the pain in my chest.
I don't need to be good to top all the rest.

This is why I write, I might not ever win, but I'll always take the pain, I've hidden from within.
