Letting Go

by Chelsea   Aug 22, 2010

I've taught myself through the years, to not hold on to things
you can't be an exception, because so many tears you bring.
The best week of my year, was cuddling in your arms
the words you said, so easy and true, they were your greatest charm
I said I love you so quick, but so quickly your love has changed
We both knew you were moving away, but falling for you was not arranged.
So you left with many real promises, but broke them very quick
I wish I hadn't trusted you, it makes me feel sick.
My heart is still yours, you took it with you that day
so now I ask for it back, I hope that is okay.
I have to let go, because you have let go of me,
I am sorry I am far from perfect, I will always love you I hope you see.

    Great poem.
Telling the whole story with only few lines.
What makes it even better are the rhymes.
    keep it up,
