Time taken for granted

by White Orchid   Aug 23, 2010

Tears I've cried flowed out
Left me bone dry
Thoughts consuming me
With nowhere to run

Suddenly a familiar scent
Pulls back the trigger
That remains in my mind
Now stuck on rewind

Traveling back in time
Hourglasses filled with sand
Moving way too fast
Memories of my haunted past

Your heart is where I resided
Made my own home there
Figuring out we collided
Breathing but with no air

That once pleasant abode
I was told to get out of
Feeling my insides explode
Not knowing that's how you felt

Time was taken for granted
Ending up brokenhearted
Now I stand with my feet planted
Thankful for the day we parted

Seems like this one goes back to that conviction, keeping it going despite hurtful memories. Indeed, a realized, well-founded conviction indeed.

I really loved the end especially but the whole poem was really good. ^_^
