Mind Games

by Ronald Edwards   Aug 25, 2010

Drinking my own poison,
just so you can die.
Its mental masturbation,
believing my own lie.

Retaliatory action,
played out in my mind.
Ending with retraction,
emotions never kind.

A drink filled with annoyance
is bitter on my lip.
Cerebral inflammation flares
when revenge is in that sip.

Hours often wasted,
in this passion play.
Few rules of interaction
are found in its cache.

Mind games are played by many,
few ending up on top.
They last for some a life time,
not knowing when to stop.

This is such a strong and mind boggling write! Your first stanza drew me in and the imagery in each stanza is vivid..an excellent read.

    This is thoughtful...really thoughtful

    and ur opening lines
    played a very strong roll

    Drinking my own poison,
    just so you can die.
    Its mental masturbation,
    believing my own lie.

    >>really made me lift up my eyebrows ..

ur ending lines...made a bright conclusion
and i seriously loved how ur expressions been flowing..
not mentioning the rhythm which was not forced at all

    i think this is a gr8 job
    keep it up

A little thought provoking I believe. Mind games can often do what you have written for us and I liked where you were coming from. Good job and keep writing.
