Just Satisfaction.

by Kyle Caley   Aug 25, 2010

Just a little poem that I wrote after a 3 year relationship/engagement didn't work out as I had planned it to. Hope you all enjoy it, it's called "Just Satisfaction."

The things I say, the things I do.
Really don't matter that much to you.
The things I cried about, the things I smiled about
Were usually just something you lied about.
You told me you loved me and yeah I told you that too.
But who was lying when it was just me and you?
What is this game of love as we know it?
All I know is you really couldn't show it.
I'm not perfect and that's no lie,
I'm glad I didn't make any promises till the day I die.

I lay here today, and wonder what happened.
Was it true love or just satisfaction?
Whatever it was, I'm glad it happened.
As of now, it was just satisfaction.
I love you today, and always will.
But want you to know you are just a thrill.
You did what you did and you can't take it back.
I'm sorry I let go, but I'm not looking back.
I told you over and over why I'd let go,
But apparently you didn't listen, or were too dumb to know
Whatever it was, you made your choice.
When all you had to do was use your voice.
Tell me what's wrong, but that didn't happen.
Another reason I think, it was Just Satisfaction...
