When I Found you,

by The Written Face   Aug 26, 2010

When I Found you,
I discovered I was slowly slipping away
Drowned within your words, And when I finally
recovered myself, I still wanted you to stay.

When I Found you,
Before then I was searching for one to complete me,
I Lost who I was in my quest and now I am more empty.

When I Found you,
I found what I was missing, then I lost another piece to my puzzle, And now in the back of my mind with you i'm reminiscing. I thought I took a step forward, but in the process gaining you had a weight on me, heavy stress on my shoulders, yet that brought you down on one knee.

When I Found you,
I didn't know I'll be standing at this alter, Fighting for my self I used to be a defaulter. Now the ring is on my finger, and in the ring I still fight myself, I am sick of searching for my cure, yet I am only damaging my health.

When I Found you,
I wondered how far we will go, You surpassed my judgement, But where am I? I don't know. I'm clueless to that woman standing next to you in that frame, You keep calling her Sarah, I take it we have the same name.

When I Found you,
I never thought I'd be this lost, I ask God to help me, But it's like I keep my fingers crossed. A ring is still on my left hand, But I try to grasp myself with the right, I barely notice this side of me, Now I'm losing you, and you both become an absentee.

When I Lost you,
I Found what I forgotten, Reminded me of where I begun, Ripening what was Rotten. I Can't spoil the end of my search, That's because I sit still, Content where I am, Will I find him again? Maybe I will, But right now I am Located within myself, I written a biography and it's on the top shelf.

For if I Find another, I will always be reminded who I am and was, for when we become Us, Who I am is what I still possess.

I liked it. It was worded nicely. It is also a good length. It was different. The structure of the poem is ok but it could be a little better.

    gave it a 5/5
