To... My Soul Mate

by East Poetry   Aug 30, 2010

A Soul mate is a perfect love,
But what exactly could that be?
Well... I pondered it with you in mind.
Here's what it means to me.

When I pass through this world,
if for a time, you fear I'm gone.
Just know that we exist somewhere,
And we're always living on.

My love for you, it has no end,
and will never ever go away.
Our existence's are in Gods time,
and this is where they'll stay.

like him, he made us perfect,
and he gave us ALL the perfect gift.
The gift of having our soul mate,
who for infinity will uplift.

You are a gift from god to me,
of this truth I have no doubt.
And I will climb the highest mountain top
And from its grandeur I shall shout.

That's its written in the cosmos,
as it's written here on earth.
We were destine for each other
from the moment of our birth.

We are an Alpha and Omega
Infinitely tiny in Gods name,
To feel joy and progress in likeness,
As "we" too, are one in same.

And "in" Gods love, our souls have mixed,
the ultimate inevitable played out,
perhaps taking all of time itself,
but that it has, no doubt.

And we're here right now in truth,
with wondrous experiences in stow.
In fact an infinite amount, my dear,
and the entire time you glow.

In the matrix you're my Trinity,
in 300...! you're my Queen!
In Star Wars you're my Leia,
And in others, as we deem.

I know for sure now, there's a place,
For "Our particle" of unending sizes,
Where we exist in unison,
And share infinite sunrises.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How do you know you've found someone
that is a true soul mate?
When existence passes over,
that ever perfect date.
Where in the cosmos, an event so huge,
your colliding thoughts will shatter.
Creating a love so pure and lasting
you make each others existences
... Infinitely matter
    Soulmates, our perfectly divinely created other half of ourself. I loved this stanza:
    That's its written in the cosmos,
    as it's written here on earth.
    We were destine for each other
    from the moment of our birth.
    ^^^what a beautiful thought. This is a really great poem Randy. I noticed your tight syllable count until this line
    For "Our particle" of never ending sizes,
    ^^^too many syllables compared to the rest
    also the last stanza needs tightening as well.
    When you have kept the count basically strict all the way thru when you hit these lines the poem kind of goes off a little.
    Fantastic rhyme and storytelling but even more beautiful are the gems inside your lines. All the best Randy
    I do believe destiny selects our soulmate for us but sometimes it takes more than one lifetime to find them. I like to think of the other times as practice runs so we are sure when they finally come along. This was quite a long verse but your rhyme and flow were impecible throughout. I really enjoyed reading this one from you, well done.
