None of us want to be anything lower than first
But in most things second is still acceptable
However when it comes to love
Second place is a complete and utter crush
Nothing makes you feel so many emotions
Nothing makes you feel so low and small
You think that maybe you'll finally get the girl
You are on top of the world
Higher than high and stronger than strong
Nothing can possible bring you back to Earth
And then you experience the ultimate pain
Realizing that you're nothing more than a runner up
Whether you only got the girl because another rejected her
Or you got the girl, but her attention is on another
It dawns on you that you didn't really get anything
Your world crumbles around you
And your emotions swirl and swirl
You fall into the ultimate darkness
Your trust starts to wane and maybe even breaks
You want to love her as much as before
But you start become worried and even paranoid
