The Journey...

by Dreamofolwin   Sep 2, 2010

I see a light in the distance, a bridge in front of me;
telling of horizons, and better things for me.
My soul so long has wearied, trod this dusty road...
my burden bearing heavy, I failed to look to God.

I know He watches over me, silently in His care;
His compassions they fail not, my sorrows He will bare.
But my visions' long been clouded, by hurt and foolish pride;
so many days in silence, tears spilled as I sat and cried.

But today my visions brighter, God has gave me eyes to see;
I need not journey all alone, for He gave Himself for me...
My all is His providing, so tender is His care;
I love Him now, forever; and I'ill journey with Him there.

To that place unseen yet brighter, where many before have trod,
today I clasp my hand in His, My Saviour and my God.

    Ok now, If you keep that up your going to make me cry ! I knew I would enjoy this one simply because of the title . Life is always such a journey & often a hard road to travel .
    Yet, I always find myself anxious for the next journey to begin. Though this was a sad poem in appearance , It was overwhelmingly beautiful , It's sadness gave value to beauty leaving the reader desiring to draw closer .
    What a beautiful write you have penned here.
    The storyline reminds me of my poem :--The load You Carry.. though I must say it does not compare to this one . Such a beautiful poem, Thank you for sharing .....5/5.....Jim
