Waves (Cinquain)

by ntv650   Sep 3, 2010

Of sand
Caught in my toes,
None remains as tides ebb.
But still I dream while standing in
The waves.

The Waves
Must be to blame.
They fill eddies and pools
With such graceful spirals and curls
Of Sand.

A cinquain adaptation. A cinquain has the following syllable structure:

    2
    4
    6
    8
    2

With linked cinquains. The last two syllables of the first stanza are the first two in the second stanza. The last two syllables of the entire poem need not be the same as the first two syllables of the entire poem.
