Where is the One I Love

by LostLikeTearsInRain   Sep 6, 2010

Where is the one I love
Is she hiding in the dark
Is she waiting for me in the wake
Of another broken heart

I want to meet this girl of my dreams
To see if love is real
So many dead ends have left me
Longing for some clarity

So where is the one I love
She must be real somewhere
Waiting for me as I wait for her
Destined for each others' embrace

She holds on to hope
Just as I clutch it in my trembling hands
I want to call out to her
To tell her that everything will be alright

She's so beautiful, this girl I've never met
She radiates perfection from every single pore
She smells like new life, like a second chance
Maybe she's the one for me

All assumptions I make in the prospect of love
But is love for me?
Only as the hands of the clock spin
Will I ever know for sure

This piece is excellent. The use of the questions mixed with the imagery in the form of facts, creates a wonderful theme in this piece. It feels like it not only has part of your true heart in it, but also some of your very soul. The flow is terrific, and the word choice is superb. I love this piece, as usual.

I hope that you find the answers that you seek. But if my word would count for anything, there really is love for everyone, somewhere, it just takes some looking and patience. Though, I promise you, your dream girl is out there, waiting for you just the same; she really is.
