Forgot How To Smile

by FindingHarmonyInYurCries   Sep 6, 2010

My reflection is staring back,
With nothing but regret.
It burns in my eyes,
Refusing to forget.

The fate that was twisted,
**** its out of shape.
I didnt expect this to happen,
I need a ******* escape.

The reality came crashing down,
It pushed me to the walls.
Heaven tossed and turned,
I watched a million angels fall.

They landed atop my life,
As if to say they ******* cared.
But I worry of my feelings,
Why couldnt they be spared?

So now I sit and watch,
My reflection try to smile.
It doesnt work anymore,
I havent used it in a while.

    This is a lovely read.

Its so sad, and moving. I can't smile, and to be honest i don't even try anymore.

I have a poem with a similar subject matter, its called, 'everytime is different' if you get a chance you should check it out,
    A stanza from it,
    ~ 'I Can't Cry A Tear,
    ~For Everyone Will Laugh.
    ~You Can't Hear My Screams,
~As My Voice Runs Out Of Gas.'

anyways its not a good as yours,

well done on a great poem.

Awww... Wow! I loved this poem... The title caught my eye .. You write about such true feelings and I could feel them in this poem.. I love how the poem started with you analyzing your reflection and also ended the same way.. and I just loved the ending.. it was perfect.

"So now I sit and watch,
    My reflection try to smile.
    It doesnt work anymore,
I havent used it in a while. "

It's sad but it really affected me! I think smiling is a gift, not just to others, but also to ourselves... Hope you are smiling while reading this :)

    Great job with this poem!

So many people face that heart-breaking reflection every day.
    You're not the only one,
    It gets easier ..

    Keep on keepin' on.
