Puppet with Strings

by Allanah Asphyxia   Sep 7, 2010

She chose to walk alone,
No one really knew why,
She kept her mind a distance,
Her eyes up toward the sky.

She had no compainions,
No need for earthly things,
She only wanted freedom,
From what she felt were puppet strings.

She dreamed of being a bird,
So that she might fly away,
She pitied every blade of grass,
That planted, they would stay.

She longed to be a flame,
That brightly danced alone,
But was only just a girl,
Who wished the air was her home.

Some say she wished too hard,
Some say she wished too long,
But when daybreak came,
She spread her wings,
And finally, she was gone.

    It's beautifully written;
    You definitely have a talent.

    THe raw emotion is heartfelt.
    Well done.
