The Natural Law

by Nobody   Sep 12, 2010

The harden faces of newly bred soldiers
synchronized they march through the streets
take a second glance, this is no normal army
these are the faces of children

They march on with grim expressions
determination straightening their shoulders
their innocent minds are clouded with a fantasy
to the experience the wonderful world of adulthood

Children are playing a part in the game of warfare
the stamping of their boots seem to echo
bouncing off the walls of our hearts, minds
we coward in fear meeting their soulless eyes.

Their hands no longer clutch toy guns
no tiny fists tightly clutch deadly weapons
pushing though the bodies that constantly drop
spitting poison to all those they once loved

With lead filling a our gut, we too drop to the ground
watching in horror as our children stomp over
our corpse, blooding their hands as well as ours
we die knowing we corrupted the future
