Your Shoes

by Some Random Human   Sep 14, 2010

I woke up today,
in an unfamiliar place,
looked in the mirror,
saw an old man's face,
he said listen boy,
'cause I've been in your shoes,
and when the road forks,
I can tell you what not to choose,

'Cause I've made mistakes,
just like you,
I've tied the knot,
in my own noose,
and I've learned,
there's a lot to lose,
so before your heart breaks,
you better make it through,

Now she let me down,
it's plain to see,
that she feels like hell,
and she's so sorry,
but she's scared,
of what choice I'll choose,
I said listen girl,
I've been in your shoes,

'Cause I've made mistakes,
just like you,
I've tied the knot,
in my own noose,
and I've learned,
there's a lot to lose,
so before your heart breaks,
you better make it through,

Now some years have passed,
and we've grown old,
and I messed up,
every mile on this road,
she said listen boy,
don't let it get to you,
'cause some years ago,
I was in your shoes,

'Cause I've made mistakes,
just like you,
I've tied the knot,
in my own noose,
and I've learned,
there's a lot to lose,
so before your heart breaks,
you better make it through,

I woke up today,
in an unfamiliar place,
looked in the mirror,
saw an old man's face,

'Cause I've made mistakes,
just like you,
I've tied the knot,
in my own noose,
and I've learned,
there's a lot to lose,
so before your heart breaks,
you better make it through...
