There's alwayz that little guy
in the background
Second best to the winners of the game
And they think their life through they go unnoticed
But theyre in the back of our mind
When he's holding us-we're content
But when he gives us that "look"
We think of how, you'd put us on high
When he pauses before returning a compliment
And we overlook that happiness that should be there
Connecting us-but isn't
We took that pedestal and threw it at those memories
Too afraid to lose what we may have already found
And never understand the hype
We go on with our lives
Then that chance is gone....taken by life itself
We're left wondering if we were wrong or right
Then one day maybe you're both gone
And we 'finally' take whatever's leftover
