In So Many Words

I said to him, "Flattery will get you everywhere.
Except there,
where it's too fragile to bend"

You see, my conscious
is a brittle mass of dust,
just biding time until I
misbehave and splinter, (like all things do eventually)
into nothing but little flecks of morality
strewn about, like ashes
across the length of my soul

I told him no, but he misconstrued my words
and forged then into something vacuous

You're too good for this website. The way you blend abstract imagery with concrete sentimentality is awe-inspiring. Whilst you don't write like a contemporary poet as much; your pieces are beyond satisfying and idiosyncratic enough for you to be published, or open up your own poetry blog.

    Bravo.
