Perhaps

by Ronald Edwards   Sep 23, 2010

Perhaps
if we tried
a single kiss..
with no promises
or expectations
no fears
or trepidation
just
a single kiss..

maybe you will see
that my desire is not so much of flesh,
as the longing to slip behind
the walls in your heart,
that the girl in you still hides behind
at times of vulnerability
or when the world gets too close or painful.

The silent eyes you present,
that I gaze into
and find hints of every color
in the rainbow,
longing to shine through.

A peaceful, sacred spot
in your soul
hidden from view
where I imagine
softly treading among warm moments
and where I have already dreamed myself
knowing for certain
that heaven
smells of you.

perhaps
if we tried
a single kiss ?
very slow very easy..
promising to never cause you harm
or ever invade your life..

my peace is your peace
my words are your words
and moments with you
become sonnets and symphonies
racing through my veins
forever etching themselves
in the volumes of my heart..

perhaps

if we tried

a single kiss ?

    WOW...RONALD...u blew me off...

    maybe you will see
that my desire is not so much of flesh,
as the longing to slip behind
    the walls in your heart,

my god..very profound u know...its always whats behind the actions we do in love..which we seek..it in the meaning not in the words..the picture not the frame..

    ... thoughtfulness ....
    forever loving this one..

Interesting to say the least. This was written in a different way then most of your poems but you still have done an excellent job with it. The hidden emotions of love and joy beat in every line and with a good flow from start to finish. Many ideas were portrayed here and you spoke truly from your heart with this piece. Good job and keep writing.
