Profane Sugarcane (aka gossip)

by Ronald Edwards   Sep 24, 2010

Sweetness on the lips,
sour in the soul.
Ending long friendships,
burrows like a mole.

Vile the consumption,
though eaten thru the years.
Spoken without caution,
causing untold tears.

Heavenly distraction,
subtle are its ways.
Destroying interaction,
the spirit it decays.

An acquired satisfaction,
sought after like wolfsbane.
Unholy this attraction
to profane sugarcane.
