I Saw The Light

by Michael D Nalley   Sep 26, 2010

I saw the Light, and it was good
when I followed it like I should
But even when I turned away
it was free to return one day
thus my Spirit's bound for glory
in a never ending story

Beautiful words of inspiration, that straight and narrow path, a hard one to follow. There at any time, Hope.

It was free to return one day

    ^^^

This line confused me a little? Did you mean you would be free to return to it one day (if you so desired?) I'm probably reading it wrong, sorry!

I just read the poem as one who has knows right from wrong but sometimes, dabbles with the dark side 'knowing' (where they really should be thinking) that the path is always awaiting their return?
