Midnight Blue

My world within the arms
of midnight blue
dangling hopelessly upon
palm lines
-unread-

Forever ...
perhaps only a breath away
teetering on the edge of broken lines
and the fall -
of a final rose petal

Oh sky !
How does the beauty of your moon
still hang
`neath my rain
And the twinkle of your stars
shine
`neath the darkness of my shadows

I,
a bitter lonely soul
dying -
within the arms
of midnight blue
