Oh star in the night,
Shinning down thy light,
Seen from this earth amongst the rest,
What is thy conquest?
It's already chosen for you,
And not your choice to ensue,
To be stuck on the face of one so dark,
And blend in with the un-dark.
A difficult decision lay before you,
Shall you continue to shine as they want you?
As staring upon you are the eyes of all,
Or - Shall you risk it, Shall you leave, Shall you fall?
Fall into the unknown,
Far away from what is home,
Fall against a distant force,
Irregular and without course,
Fall without knowing when or where you will land,
Deserting your light at a flick of a hand,
Fall into freedom, fall into fate,
Fall, quickly, before it is too late.
But you linger on, you are still here,
Clinging - to what everyone else holds dear,
Step back into what is the un-you,
And be the prelude you always knew.
Stare at the wanting with unknown eyes,
And give into their 'wants' lies,
Another day, another death,
Cold as ice, another lost breath.
