Sinking

by Keleena   Sep 30, 2010

Cold,
On the floor
Against soft,
Like peach skin.
Tousled curls in the wind,
Arouse -
In me,
A longing.
Ocean waves
Rise and crash,
And rise again.
Sand gives way
To water drops,
Below
They sink down,
Down,
Into the unseen,
Where light of day cannot touch,
And the cold,
Swallowed down,
All that is unseen, unknown,
Sinking
Disappears and vanquished,
Digging,
Plunder in, Can't uncover.
Too far gone
Long below,
And sinking still.

I like the way this free verse flows, though a couple of line breaks, breaking it into stanzas may even strengthen it more, ie between "A Longing" and "Breaking waves" as one example.

Interpreting this poem is fraught with danger for me, other than I can feel deep emotion of something you are holding within. One things for sure, you have talent.
