Thinking of how to write to you
And compare you to a summer's day
Is difficult to do
When you're so far away.
I've read so many rhymes
And looked for one to give
To make you feel sublime
Like you've never lived.
I could not choose a written word
For words come from the heart
And it just feels absurd
To not create some art.
I'm writing you to tell you
That I'm in love with you
But I'll never come out
Unless you love me, too.
I know it must be strange
To see these words directed
From a secret place exchanged
And to a heart connected.
But, though you know not
Who writes these words to you
Do know they come with love
Whether or not you love me, too.
I think of you like breeze
Blowing flowers all around here.
Leaving traces in the trees
So that you're always near.
