Recalling Our Love (Memento)

by Meena Krish   Oct 6, 2010

Years of struggle seems far away
as moments bring us close
to heart,
each of your words within me stays...
grows like a thorn less rose
of art.

This bond strengthens through pain and strife
recalling our love
and plight,
forever, to be man and wife
prayers I send above
tonight.

Memento, created by Emily Romano is a poem about a holiday or an anniversary, consisting of two stanzas as follows: the syllable count should be 8 beats for line one; 6 beats for line two; and two beats for line three. This is repeated twice for each stanza. The rhyme scheme is: a/b/c/a/b/c for each of the two stanzas.

Wonderful job on the form. I absolutely love it when people try different forms as I see it as a show of their creativity as an poet. You did a wonderful job with this from and I asspecially liked the poem too. It gave me a sense of comfort as I read, or at least that's the feelings I got as I read it. Anyway you did a wonderful job. Good job and keep writing.

Meena, I read this as a prayer that you should say over and over to your Higher Power. Lovely words sharing your experience, strength and hope with the man, husband, soul mate ....

Meena, nice job with the form and wonderful words for your husband to show the love you have for him. Good job.

    In this line
each of your word within me stays...

I think word should be words.
