Hold you close

by East Poetry   Oct 7, 2010

Sometimes I lie awake at night,
And wish that you were here.
To feel and hold you close to me,
to never disappear.

Just thinking of your presence,
And your warmth against my side.
And listening to your breathing
like the calming ocean tide.

I think about just holding you,
your legs entwined with mine.
And the feeling of your fingers
moving softly up my spine.

It takes me to a perfect place
Where everything feels right.
and I can not await the day.
When I get you every night.

On endless nights, not alone,
the two of us so near.
I'll hold you close inside my love,
and take away your fear.

Rhymed poetry most often than not show forced emotion. This is one of those exceptions. The flow was also very smooth and peaceful in a way ;)
Great job. A really nice read. Keep it up

This was incredibly well written, I got so much emotion out of this poem... mainly because you just put in words my exact feelings.

    "And listening to your breathing
    like the calming ocean tide."

Just beautiful, emotion and imagery I think done perfectly:)

Well done, I really enjoyed this
