She smiles

by Ronald Edwards   Oct 7, 2010

With auburn hair
shoulder in length
a glow gleaming from her face,

she stands
as if waiting for me
dressed in the finest lace.

She smiles, oh so warmly,
sending her love
into my heart,

in picture frame
made of looking glass
I pray we never part.

This promise she made
has now been kept
on our secret holiday,

a shooting star
Ive wished on
that wed be together soon one day.

I enjoy your poems for many reasons one of course they are very well written. But you put your heart into words of simplicity. makimg them so much more meaningful then eloborate wording that takes from the beauty of a love poem

A short poem about love and more precise describing the one you love and how they make you feel. Heartwarming piece you have written here. Good job and keep writing.
