The Ache In My Tooth.

by forevertobeart   Oct 7, 2010

*I haven't written in quite some time, so this is a little rough. Sometimes it's hard to get back into the groove of things.*

The ache in my tooth
has begun to grow wings,
and is starting to become
all that it could be.

It's heartening to see potential
not being wasted.

Not being entirely unexpected,
the truth would be
that I knew it was festering,
that it was coming to its natural conclusion,
like maybe the lives of our parents
or our loved ones do.
But I let it occur,
not facing up to it,
like one doesn't to most truths
of this magnitude.

Thus, the cavity becomes an abyss
and now no remedy stills this scream.

All I can do is chew in agony,
until I put in a fake, ceramic prosthesis
where the pain used to be.

I can really relate to this part!!

Thus, the cavity becomes an abyss
and now no remedy stills this scream.

My only suggestion would be to change "stills" to "calms"
other then that beautiful poem :] Keep writing, it sucks getting out of the groove -Nik
