Just a coward

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Oct 8, 2010

When i look at your eyes,
I see nothing but defeat and self-loathing,
Despite your many actions
In which you want to prove the contrary.

Despite your screams,
Your tyranny and the way you resort to intimidation,
I know, and you do as well, that deep inside of you,
you are just a coward.

In my eyes, you have already lost,
Though your monstrous might is inclined to fool,
and to convince others that victory is yours,
But time will unfold what is deeper than the naked eye could see..

Sharpening the knife is what you're doing to me,
And i am the knife which gets sharper by the second,
And whereas true gold endureth fire,
So shall i endure.

That is why when i look at your eyes,
I see a losing person bound on defeat,
Trying to hold the last remnants of power,
Desperate enough to prove the contrary.

And that is why despite the poisonous actions that spew out of you,
During the moments of silence,
You and i know one thing for certain,
That deep inside, you are just a coward.

* Some things are better left unsaid. The message will get across somehow, sometime...

I have never read one of your poems that wasn't powerful in some way. Your strength as a person and a woman radiate through all your works.
