You asked her...

by BaeBee Brittie   Oct 11, 2010

It started with a Hey beautiful,
She fell fast and deep for you.

You asked her to love you.
With all the words and sweet ideas,
You asked her to love you.

She thought she could fix you,
But you were never in need of fixing.

You gave her hope in this life,
You asked her to love you.
You made her believe she was the one,
You asked her to love you.

She believed you...
What a mistake!

You were perfect from a distance,
You asked her to love you.
You made her believe in your lies
You asked her to love you.

She now sits here lost between your ways,
Vulnerable and broken once again
All because you asked her to love you....

Good use of repetition, especially with it being the main idea here. =/ I hope this isn't a personal experience but with poetry it so often is. Either way, it's a great expression of a feeling that many people unfortunately have to feel. Keep writing !
