Whispers

by jen sheridan   Oct 12, 2010

A drop in the ocean will ripple without restraint,
Reaching forth it's disruption without constraint,
Spreading wide its tumultuous impact,
Affecting all with this one, concise act,
A solitary word said with quieted emotions,
Vindictions coveted to avoid obvious commotions,
Whispering discretely in some general direction,
It's guaranteed their words hold no affection,
Downcast eyes and deceptive implications,
Not a second thought to the ramifications,
A deceptive facade to cover their internal malice,
A smile deflects from their thoughts so callous,
Fake smiles and welcoming hands extended,
The flash in their eye as you are befriended,
Seeking to consume you with gossip and hatred,
Imagine being the victim scorned and berated,
They construct their web around your inferiority,
Exercising their self professed superiority,
This inconceivable world affects us all,
Young or old it is so easy to fall,
To be caught in this elaborate web of deception,
A world of smoke, mirrors and false reflection,
The desire to destroy the socially acceptable,
To this masquerade so many are susceptible,
No remorse is displayed as they wound with the word,
No deviation from their soul intent no matter how absurd,
Infectious by nature, whispers leave torment in their wake,
An accessory to the fact is anyone who chooses to partake....

Devious dealings benefit no one.
