I Never Knew

by Hurtingsoul   Oct 16, 2010

I never knew.
How they suffered
The chaos that surrounded them
The way they had no more tears to cry
Blood dried on their skin
As they felt hopeless.

I wake up.
Theres food in the fridge
Water in a bottle
Sheets to keep me warm
And a shower
The same things they didn't have.

And I never knew.

They wake up.
Food is scarce
Water is the color of dirt
Cold concrete replace sheets
Showers come as often as rain
The same things I didn't have.

If only I knew.

This poem potrays a visual image into one mind of what some have and take for granted as other make do without. This is wonderful.

    Truly Amazing! 5/5
