The desire to be free is sometime not enough for an addict. They have also want a change in their lives for themselves along with the desire and it may take many times and years to be free. And sometimes they never get free. Well done. |
My best friend died in front of his daughter of an overdose of drugs. The last thing he saw was his baby girl with tears in her eyes. |

Excellent poem, Olwin! I like the way portray drug addiction as a tyrant. Because it is, in the worst way. Like TJ, I knew someone who died of an overdose, right in the front yard of my house some years ago. In Florida, where I moved from, dozens die the same way all the time. They have a nickname for this problem: Pharmageddon! |

Any addiction is hard to get over. |
Excellent poem. I don't know anyone on drugs but from what I have seen in movies this really does depict visually everything that I would imagine being on drugs looks and feels like. Very well rhymed, strong visuals and emotionally compelling loved it Milly x |
