Darkness Betrayed

by RainbowSlider   Oct 19, 2010

He created his fortress in a dark cave.
Only candle light and foxfire he save.
Helped him to read the scrolls of past.
Vision guided him where shadow cast.

The familiar crept through his domain.
Soundless like a void memory remain.
He went past ages of literature strewn.
Vigilant in his documentation of rune.

Candle wax dripped and slumber came.
Vision took hold and he knew its name.
What the mind had perceived in doubt.
Was what he had been troubled about.

The black hole was magma personified.
Tingled his being this dark mummified.
This creator of shadows lured him nigh.
And stared at him with its gigantic eye.

It awakened him to all his dim notions.
Ran through the cave breaking potions.
Mused over his notes he had replayed.
Knew he must leave darkness betrayed.
