Until Then

by Robert Daniel Long   Oct 24, 2010

As I travel
These roads
Life
Seems to move faster
Alluding capture at all points
And going from place to place
I've seen many things
Many faces
As time marches on
They seem to blur and fade away
Leaving me
Only faint memories

I slow down
Hoping life would too
But to my dismay
I was pushed aside
And left behind
Abandoned to rot

Where is kindness
We seem to well equipped
For ill will
Than that of simple
courtesy
And dole out rudeness
In its stead

I was hoping
That I could find a place
Where good
Was the rule of thumb
A plain
Or a level playing field
Where one could build
In Lu of tearing down
As time marches on

This to
Seems to blur and fade away

Left with nothing
To look forward to
I travel on
In search of a place
Where I can heal
Among friends and loved ones
Until then
My journey won't end
