In my collection of poetry anytime you see words in ( )
they are the title of another poem of mine.

Once Familiar Land--
JAN. 13TH 2008

PART ONE

Casually looking around for you
Desiring more than just A friend
Still feeling all Ive been through
Hoping change will bring about the end

Walking through this wilderness alone
Single foot prints in the sand
Thankful for the light that's shown
Though I've seen (no place to land.)

Emotions high, anticipation soaring
No shame , no blame , no desire for the game
just (A seasoned heart) exploring
With A passion yet to be tame

Exploring uncharted territory
That was once familiar land
Slowly remembering the story
As we turn each page by hand

campfires burning ,embers glowing
trying to read between the lines
Hoping that my honesty's showing
As I drink another taste of her wine

Intoxicated by the beauty of her( desire,)
Wanting never to recover
Finding new ways to light her fire
As she finds she's more than just my lover

PART TWO
JAN.14TH 2008

THE MORNING AFTER

Yesterday's campfire abandoned, home fires burning
Discovering the mysteries of one another
Sharing by exploring , and honestly learning
Every (desire) revealed by the other

Her body heat radiates
Lying next to me in our bed.
As my mind anticipates
Where this journey will have lead

At the nape of her neck,I leave A gentle kiss
I'm leaving for work, no time to stay
Of the pleasures we shared , I hope she'll reminisce
Knowing I'm only A desire away

If her day should turn, and my strength she needs
Don't give it A second thought
For I've felt the pain of A spirit that bleeds
From the( battles of life) I've fought

So rest assured , here in my loving arms
While we cast your cares away
And as I shelter you from all harms
You'll know I'm here to stay

If you should need to cry, then go ahead
For soon I'll give you laughter
AS we awaken tomorrow in our bed
we'll share, another morning after
