My Window

by Sylvia   Oct 29, 2010

Opening to the world,
the window in my room.
No bars, yet a prisoner
resides inside this tomb.

Sad eyes watch the seasons,
Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall
as they seemingly change
with no reason at all.

Watching people walk by,
they smile, laugh, no sound heard
by these anxious deaf ears.
Imposed silence preferred.

With imagination,
stories are created.
Happy or sad endings,
my choice debated.

For a moment in time
outside my world, life blooms,
this prisoner is freed,
hope and happiness looms.

Written for a club contest.

Your poems mirrors emotions I've felt, watching the world seeminlgy passing by from my window, with cars filled with people totally indiffferent to anythng but themselves. It's very sad to feel so cut off from the world, and your poem portrays this very poignantly.

Wow! This poem is so beautiful and I really connected to it on another level. The title caught my eye and I loved the message and content of the poem... I love how there is hope and happiness in the ending because that's what we all need sometimes. I love it. Great job!

Hehhe a sad smile or the cold and living past , or just anoher forgotten leaf of the fall , maybe just the fake colors of b&w lie , still not much inside of the outer surface of the inner emotion under the dry skin ,

    great job thanx
