Midnight Moon...

by Dreamofolwin   Nov 2, 2010

Oh midnight moon that shines up high;
against the night's dark canopy....
I feel your heartbeat and I sigh;
and ask myself how can it be?

That gazing here I feel at one;
with you, depart the rising sun.
For sitting here I find relief;
from all my sorrow and my grief.

* A Rispetto ~ an Italian form which is a complete poem of two rhyming quatrains abab ccdd.

    The moon is like a sanctuary of peace where
    we forget all our pains as we immerse in its beauty..very nicely written :)

    I am now seeing this form everywhere and it inspires a lot. I love the connection and relationship you had with the moon, as if it was your brother, just creating peace between the two of you. Quite delicate scene you have given off, I hope more come upon this illuminating gem. Thanks for sharing, God bless you fellow poet!
