Broken Girl

by Poet on the Piano   Nov 3, 2010

I thought he needed me
like rainfall begs for light
and the sun sacrifices energy
to dry the twisted crevice.

he traced my ear,
muttering musical lust
which I blindly took for devotion.

my worthless body,
black words that hiss
and remind me how
i was created differently,
a mutant of disgust.

he touches my flesh
yet blames my skin
for physical flaws,

the daze hits
and like a message machine
he wails,

i am
deposited material
bleeding with hollow waste.

- inspired by the song "broken girl" for the album Story of your Life (Matthew West).

This was a truly sad poem that was filled with pain in the lines and I believe to be a sad story for many teenagers now a days. Teens get mistreated and abused by each other and it is really sad. Anyway the context of your poem describes exactly that and I was filled with sadness that I know many people are filled with. Great job and keep writing.
