Ain't Got Time To Bleed

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Nov 5, 2010

I went to hell and came back,
Luckily, I've found my track,
There's no need to rush now, there's no need to speed,
I got hurt but i ain't got time to bleed.

I hit that pitch black corner of darkness,
Now i finally found some light.
We need to do what's wrong sometimes,
In order to do what's right.

The scars are still here,
They remind me of how much i'm strong.
The journey to excellence and wisdom is excruciating,
Filled with thorns, sometimes desolate and long.

But once you've reached this promised land,
Which is no where other than in your mind,
You'll get shocked how naive you were,
Claiming to see crystal clear when you were blind.

Never mind the pain now,
It's a teacher in a different form.
How else can we relish the pleasures of a rainbow,
Without surpassing the storm?

I fell hard and got hurt,
But i gotta stand up again and proceed.
It's called resilience- the slogan of my life,
And i simply ain't got time to bleed.

You put so much into your work. You make the reader feel just like you do. If you're angry so are we , if yu're in love we feel the warmth.
    Definately one awesome poetress

A powerful message about recovery from the hard knocks that life presents us with from time to time. It is not always done quickly although we would like for that to be the case but we do overcome those obstacles and we survive.
