Stairway To Heaven (Club Collab)

by Sylvia   Nov 5, 2010

On the wings of the whispering wind,
shimmering stars fill the midnight sky.
As their glimmer does softly blend,
with a tear of hope drawing nigh.

Contemplating the unveiled moon,
my unaccustomed eyes see afar.
As dreams softly sing a sweet tune,
a stairway to heaven reaches the stars.

Calling to me in a celestial voice
Beckoning to rise above,
While my soul does sigh and rejoice,
Immersed only in beauty and perfect love.

Written by members of Phoenix Rising, based on the song title, Stairway to Heaven. It is a song by the English rock band Led Zeppelin, released in late 1971. It was composed by guitarist Jimmy Page and vocalist Robert Plant for the band's untitled fourth studio album (dubbed Led Zeppelin IV). The song, running almost eight minutes, is composed of several sections, which increase in tempo and volume as the song progresses.

The first line of the poem is a quote by an unknown author.

Hello Sylvia, I hope you are well.

One of the great things about being in a club are the new ideas and other creative minds to bounce off.

I love Stairway to heaven. Great metaphor and song.

To me it reads like a prayer and has a quality that is refined and commands respect. It is worded beautifully and the alliteration sounds wonderful.

    Great job as always.

    Take care

You all did a wonderful job and it is great to see the talent of our club put together to make a masterpiece. Every line was clever and it kept me thinking through out the poem as to the meaning of the poem. The flow was perfect from what I read and you three once again have done an amazing job. Great job and keep writing.

This poem does have a peaceful flow to it.
I am glad to be involved with such amazing poets who so eloquently express their feelings & can so easily continue the flow where another has left off without missing a single beat . 5/5 ...Jim
