Your fancy, n my darkness

by Phoenix   Nov 12, 2010

You say you love me, *******,
And I honestly think you do.
I know it in my heart and soul,
But, I'm not in love with you.

You dream of summer days
With the grass so soft and green.
The golden sun, a gentle breeze,
Alone by a bubbling stream.
You long to kiss my bloodless lips
And revive my blackened heart.
To be the first I see
When I'm struck by Cupid's dart.
You think I'll love you with all my life
Your name stained to my lips
Unable to live without you
Without my world bein' torn to strips.
My heart will pound when you're near
I'll be scared when I'm alone.
So many fanciful, romantic things
With my darkness overthrown.

But, I called up this darkness,
And I stopped my beating heart.
And I can dull the poison
That coats Sir Cupid's dart.
I can take away the life
That tries to taint my lips.
And I can coldly watch your world
Be torn from you in strips.
I can turn your summer dreams
Into an icy cold nightmare.
And I can make you wish to God,
That I was never there.
