Says the writer to her scientist friend

by abracadabra   Nov 15, 2010

They're playing conga drums and bongo drums and box drums
in the living room
their faces lit with some ecstasy
I don't know about

The house is full of the sounds
that drunk, diarrhetic horses would make on cement
plopping as they clop

Look at that guy beating the coffee table
and shaking my pepper grinder
as if his soul depended on it
or something

I don't care how lovely it is or how original they are
they are loud and boring
and I'm going outside to the store
to get us toilet paper.

I have to say this poem made me LOL genuinely,

"Look at that guy beating the coffee table
    and shaking my pepper grinder
as if his soul depended on it
    or something"

I just imagine eyes rolling at this point, awesome humorous write with a great voice.

What a interesting way of writing poetry but I have to say that it is very unique and I am taken in by it. I love the great simplicity you use and how it's easy to understand exactly what you are saying and how you bring your poetry down to earth, sort of say. All in all this was a pleasure to read and I enjoyed it immensly. Great job and keep writing.

"Or something" just flipping cracked me up, and I was laughing for the rest of the poem. This is great!
