Farewell

by Ronald Edwards   Nov 17, 2010

There was a time
I heard just your call.

That sound now is silent,
on deaf ear it does fall.

See my back as I leave,
no longer I can stay.

Hold your thorn tongue,
I leave you today.

Not one more minute,
shall my watch tell for you.

That face has two hands,
waving goodbye to you.

This was truly a sad poem that gave a good summary of it is and what one feels when they bid farewell. I loved the emotion that you put into this piece and also the many different perspectives one could take this poem as. Great job and keep writing.

An inventive way to say goodbye to someone and it sad. When we say these words, I wonder if they are meant or if we are just putting on a brave front for the one we love.
